Hero Image

Milly Grant-Koria of Tūrongo Collective

Inspired by whakapapa, lineage, and the powerful connections to land, mountain, and sea, Aaron sought to create a visual narrative that honours our past while calling to the future. He envisioned an image that transcends traditional representations, embracing cinematic storytelling that captures the beauty and āhua of our landscapes alongside the deep wairua and connection inherent in our culture.

Melissa Fergusson and her talented design team took Aaron’s visionary concept and skilfully harmonised these elements into the festival’s hero image. They worked to blend artistic and cultural motifs with a modern, cinematic feel, resulting in an image that is not just visually stunning but also deeply meaningful. This captivating image sets the stage for the festival’s āhua, anchoring the festival’s identity in a visual narrative that resonates with both artists and audiences alike.
